Christmas 2011

Christmas this year was spent in Lompoc. It was a fabulous time with family and some great memories were made.

On Christmas Eve we drove to Lompoc in the morning and spent he rest of the day with the Webster family. That night, Nate would not sleep in the pack-n-play. He kept us up for a good chunk of the night. We knew we were in for a really exhausting Christmas day.

On Christmas day we headed over to Rob's parents house bright and early. Becky had to leave for work by 8:30 but wanted to open presents with us and the kiddos. Sammy was really fun to watch this year. He was beyond excited to open his presents. He would say, "Oh boy!" or "Look what I got!" Nate liked the wrapping paper, tissue paper, and bows more that most of his gifts :) After presents, we headed back to our hotel for our free made-to-order, delicious, breakfast. The it was nap time. Nate, Mommy, and Daddy were exhausted! Sammy watched cartoons while the three of us took a two hour nap. It was fabulous!! We were refreshed and ready to head back to Grandma and Papa's for Christmas lunch/dinner. We enjoyed a delicious meal as a family and spent more time visiting. We even walked over to the park to play. In the evening, we headed back to our hotel to spend some time with Rob's close friend, Alica. We had fun catching up. Sam and Nate were both so tired that they fell asleep while were were talking ... Sam on the couch and a Nate next to me on the floor. I think Christmas wore them out :) It was a good day!

On Monday, we enjoyed another yummy breakfast at our hotel, said our goodbyes to Aunt Becky, Uncle Joe, and Grandma and Papa Webster, packed our things at the hotel, gave Nate a nap, and then headed over to my sister's house to celebrate Christmas with my family. It was great to visit with my sisters, my parents, and my niece and nephew. Jordan and Sammy play so well together and Kloey and Nate got along great. It was cute to watch them play. Around five, we headed back to Riverside. It was a really good but busy day.

Cute story: Sammy loved our hotel. He was very excited to ride the "alligator" (elevator) and he loved the pool. He was very friendly with the clerks working the front desk in the lobby and every time we would pass by them he would say things like, "Hi, I'm back!" or "Bye Bye, I'm going to see Grandma and Papa." He never fails to make us smile.

This morning, we let Sam and Nate open the presents we/Santa got them. Sammy's reaction to his big T-Rex was priceless and Nate loved his cookie monster, smiling every time he talked and carrying him all over the house. My boys scored in the toy department. I spent most of today, bagging up old toys to make room for all of their ones. It was a great Christmas but now it is time to get back into our routines and schedules and catch up on some much needed sleep :)
